    Care Pathways by RISE offers a no-cost, nursing assistant (NA) training program that sets learners up to become certified nursing assistants (CNA) through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Our NA training program provides expert instruction, mentorship, and impactful support services on your path to career advancement.

  • Minimum Requirements to participate

    Each applicant must meet the minimum requirements of Care Pathways' training program to be considered as a candidate.

  • Are you comfortable working in an environment that may contain infectious diseases?*
  • Are you comfortable working around bodily fluids? CNAs often work with blood, urine, feces, etc.*

  • Urine Analysis Drug Screening


    A requirement for clinical eligibility and employment at participating healthcare facilities is successfully passing a urine analysis (UA or Urinalysis) drug screening.

    Please note that this screening includes testing for marijuana. While marijuana is legal under Oregon state law, it remains illegal under federal law. Marijuana may remain detectable in your system for 30 days or longer, depending on usage.

    Drug screening will be conducted at the start of the program and may also be required as a condition of employment by healthcare facilities. Program team may also require a UA drug screening throughout the program for reasonable suspicion. Failure to pass the UA drug screening may result in dismissal from the program or termination of an employment offer.

    Many hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities maintain zero-tolerance drug policies and may deny employment or terminate employees who test positive, including for legal or medical marijuana use.

  • Attendance requirements

  • This is a fast-paced program that requires time commitment. The program offers two schedule options for the self-paced, online learning portion: an accelerated schedule of approximately 3 weeks, and a standard schedule of approximately 6 weeks.

  • This program also requires approximately 3 additional weeks of in-person lab and clinical training. If you miss a lab day, there is only one make up day available. If you miss a clinical day, there is only one make up day available.

    Students are responsible for attending all in-person lab and clinical trainings.

    Accelerated Schedule:

    • Online learning runs from September 30, 2026 to October 23, 2026.
    • In-person lab and clinical runs from October 26, 2026 to November 19, 2026.

    Standard Schedule:

    • Online learning runs from September 30, 2026 to November 19, 2026.
    • In-person lab and clinical runs from November 18, 2026 to December 15, 2026.

    Program dates and times are subject to change as the schedule is finalized.

    Care Pathways is committed to identifying and addressing obstacles that make it challenging for learners to finish and excel in our CNA training programs. The following questions will help us understand how we can better serve you if you're chosen to participate in our program.
