    Long-Term CareWorks offers a no-cost, sponsored nursing assistant (NA) training program through EMT Associates in Hood River, Oregon. This program provides expert instruction, mentorship, and meaningful financial support on your path to employment in long-term care.

  • Minimum Requirements to participate

    Each applicant must meet the minimum requirements of EMT Associates' training program to be considered as a candidate.

  • Urinalysis Drug Screening

    A requirement for clinical eligibility and employment at participating healthcare facilities is successfully passing a Urinalysis (UA) drug screening.

    Please note that this screening includes testing for marijuana. While marijuana is legal under Oregon state law, it remains illegal under federal law. Marijuana may remain detectable in your system for 30 days or longer, depending on usage.

     Drug screening will be conducted at the start of the program and may also be required as a condition of employment by healthcare facilities. Failure to pass the UA drug screening may result in dismissal from the program or rescission of an employment offer.

    Many hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities maintain zero-tolerance drug policies and may deny employment or terminate employees who test positive, including for legal or medical marijuana use.

    This is a fast-paced program. Due to this short timeline, there will be no makeup days available. If you have any prior commitments during this timeframe that you aren't able to miss, we ask that you keep this program in mind to join at a later date.

    Two cohorts for Hood River, Oregon are available:  

    Daytime Cohort 

    Orientation: July 28, 9am-1pm
    Classroom Training: August 3-14, 8am-4:30pm
    Clinicals: August 17-25,  6:30am-3:15pm
    Professional Development: August 26-September 1, 9am-5pm
    Testing and skills review: TBD

     

    Evening Cohort

    Orientation: August 4, 9am-1pm
    Classroom Training: August 10-31, 4:45-9:45pm
    Clinicals: September 1-8 (excluding Labor Day),  6:30am-5:15pm
    Professional Development: September 9-15, 9am-5pm
    Testing and skills review: TBD

  • Cohort Placement Process

    Final placement decisions will be based on each candidate’s overall score, which includes the aptitude assessment, screening, and interview. Candidates will be ranked accordingly, and those with the highest scores will be offered placement in their preferred cohort first. This process will continue in descending order until all cohort spots are filled.

    Please note that candidates will only be considered for cohorts that match their stated availability. If a cohort reaches capacity and you have indicated availability for only that specific option, you will be placed on the alternate list.

  • CNA Duties and Responsibilities

  • Are you comfortable working in an environment that may contain infectious diseases?*
  • Are you comfortable working around bodily fluids? CNAs often work with blood, urine, feces, etc.*
  • Facilities generally schedule CNAs on a 4 on, 2 off rotation. This means you could work Mon-Thu and have Fri-Sat off one week, then work Sun-Wed and have Thurs-Fri off the next week.

  • Wraparound Support needs assessment

    Long-Term CareWorks is committed to identifying and addressing obstacles that make it challenging for learners to finish and excel in our CNA training programs. The following questions will help us understand how we can better serve you if you're chosen to participate in our program.
